Okay, you've been a new affiliate signup, you've been the owner, now
it's time to put on the "customer" hat!
Remember that URL I had you write down when you signed up to be an affiliate?
Well, you're going to place a "simulated order" there.
You can use a bogus customer name and the credit card number which I
supply for use in this demo to place the order. You can also try a bogus
credit card number, just to see if the script will catch/reject it (it will).
Okay, here we go!
- In a second browser window (either the one that was opened earlier,
or a new one), go to the URL you wrote down when you signed up as a new
affiliate
- At the bottom of that first page, you'll see a link for "Click here
now and have your own Marketing Alchemy Guide in minutes!" -- click on it. . .
- Now fill out the order form.
- A valid email address is required -- just
use "millenium@palis.com" if you don't feel comfortable using
your own
- Be sure to change the quantity in one of the product quantity boxes
to something other than 0.
- For credit card information, click on "Mastercard" and enter
the number 5424180242401492 (as shown on the
order form already).
- Use any expiration date that is valid (the current month/year or later)
- Submit the order by clicking on the button at the bottom of the order
form
Now, if you put your email address in as the customer email address,
you should receive three emails:
- The one that is normally sent to the customer
- The one that is normally sent to the affiliate
- The one that is normally sent to the affiliate program owner
In the next step, we'll check this information out from the viewpoint
of the affiliate AND from the viewpoint of the affiliate program owner .
