To use "Your Own Affiliate Program", you need:
- A Unix/Linux web server
- Perl 5.003 or later installed on that server
- cgi-bin access
99% of the available Unix hosting solutions include Perl and cgi-bin access, but check with your web hosting company just to be sure.
You can integrate YOAP with your shopping cart and/or real-time payment software by including an
image tag on the "thank you for your order" page displayed by your cart system. All that is required
is that you have the ability to embed the amount of the sale into the HTML code for that page.
Most shopping cart and payment gateway systems have this capability, so YOAP should work fine
with just about all of them.
Installation consists of creating some directories on your server, copying the YOAP files
there, and running the "install" script. After you install the software, you'll need to prepare at
least one "template" file for your affiliate sites, and you'll also need to modify the supplied
affiliate signup form to reflect your own site's "look and feel".
